Organizing your team in a way that aligns with how you want the operation to run is important if you want to get the most value out of your instance of DegreeSight. For instance,
Do you want a student worker to tell students their coursework is approved for transfer?
On the other hand, do you want to lock down your system so much that it doesn't naturally grow and new rules don't get captured?
Making these decisions early on is important, but it is also something that you'll want to maintain over time. A brief overview of the four main roles that you can divide your team into within DegreeSight is below.
To begin, if you are an Admin, you will be able to add new users to your instance and change their Roles using the "Manage Team and Permissions" link shown in your administration dropdown (in your header, underneath the top-right logo):
You can also browse here from 'Settings and Administration->Team->Manage Team':
Once there, staff users within DegreeSight can be set as one of the following roles:
These users can only view prospects' and students' information but are not able to modify their coursework or match individual courses to any granted credits. This is a good role for someone who might want to support and live chat with students but not get involved in the actual decision-making process.
These users can edit a prospect or students' coursework and match those courses to granted credits.
These users can edit coursework and match it to granted credits, and they can:
create and edit equivalencies and exams
save new rules on the fly
If you want to create a new rule on the fly when matching a sent course to a granted course, you must be a Rule Creator or Admin.
These users can perform all activities of the other roles plus they are able to:
add users to their Team and set their Roles
manage their institution's Catalog
manage their institution's Global Policies
import Equivalencies
set and change their Integrations
